Projects for St Ignatius College Prep, Chicago, since 2022. They employed my mentor, Stephen Reynolds, as their sign painter for many years. I have done several projects for them since his retirement.
I lettered the new pedestal for this 19th century statue of St Ignatius that now stands in the entrance to the school. I also aided the restoration by touching up the lettering on his Bible. 2022.
St. Ignatius’s signature recreated in metallic gold paint.
Hand-lettered and gilded office doors, 2022 & 2023:
The connecting area between the church and the school was recently renovated, and in 2025 I was asked to design and paint signs on either side of the school entrance. I designed the signs to visually match Stephen Reynolds’s previous work seen elsewhere in the building:
Hand-lettered sign leading into the “transitus.” Design by me based on Stephen Reynolds’s style.
The sign leading into the school. The central medallion design was provided by the school, and this is their overall suggested layout. The heavy “Greek key” border came from another Stephen Reynolds sign.
